Neve Cosmetics Elegantissimi Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hey Everyone,

So, I know I have been terrible at blogging recently because I've been making quite a few videos and I find those easier than blogging but I've decided to take a break from videos for the next little while and try and focus mostly on my blog, which can be found both on Blogger/Blogspot and on Glipho but the posts will be pretty much be the same.

Ok, so now I have that out of the way, onto the main point of this post. I had been looking for an eyeshadow palette of pretty neutral/browny colours that were all matte or had very slight shimmer in them. I had gotten into the habit of only using my MUA Undressed and Heaven and Earth palettes and they are all neutral shades but packed with shimmer and I felt that I was just in a bit of a rutt with that eye look but I also wanted something that I knew I would get a lot of use out of as well. After some research and a lot of debating I decided that the Neve Cosmetics Elegantissimi palette looked the best and I think I've proven myself right!

The packaging
I found this palette on the Cute Cosmetics website which is fast becoming one of my favourite beauty sites, not least because all of their products are animal friendly and in some cases vegan. I swithered over it for a while because it does cost £21.95 but even after only a few uses I would say that it was definitely worth the price as it is exactly what I was on the hunt for.

For a palette it is quite big compared to say the MUA palettes but you do get a lot of product in each pan as you will see in a second and one of the main reasons I chose this palette over some others is that it is magnetic and you can buy each pan and quite a few other colours (including blushes) and swap them around to make your own palette or replace ones as you use them up rather than having to buy a whole new palette for just those few colours that you use most often.

At first glance and online the packaging looks black but is actually a deep purple colour with the rainbow like design that all of the Neve palettes have I think. Also, I should have mentioned before that Neve Cosmetics is an Italian brand (in casse you hadn't guessed from the name) and I'm not sure if it's available any where else in the UK other than Cute Cosmetics but there will be a link included at the end.

Like I mentioned previously, the pans inside the palette are a lot bigger than any other palette that I own which could make it tricky to fit into a make up bag for instance but it is quite a slim palette and clicks properly shut so would be suitable for travelling with. I think that the size of the pans and their customisable-ness (new word as always in my posts) make them well worth the higher cost. Also, you only have to replace one pan at a time which spreads out future costs with it.

The size difference between the pans of the Neve Palette and  my MUA  Heaven and Earth palette- you can see that the Neve pans look giant in comparison! Also you can see the big difference between how shimmery the MUA eyeshadows are compared to the Neve one!
Lastly, I'm going to talk about the pigmentation of the shadows and a bit more about the colours which as you can see are all neutrally and brown, except for the matte white and matte black and a grey on the second row which I really love.

The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is quite good but is buildable if you want a stronger colour. Also the eyeshadows can all be used dry or wet, which would give an even stronger effect. I'm thinking about doing this with the black as an alternative to eyeliner which I suck at applying! The darker the colour the more pigmented it is which is useful to bear in mind especially with the black one or you can get in a bit of a mess with it! My favourite colours would have be 'smoking' the grey and 'etoile' which is a really pretty shimmery creamy coloured highlight/inner corner colour as well as 'butterfly' which is a really nice matte all over colour, which I use as a base before blending one of the darker colours like 'peluche' or 'croissant' into the crease. Like I briefly mentioned before, the Neve eyeshadows are mostly vegan but all animal cruelty free and I'm pretty sure all of the colours that come in this palette are vegan but they are clearly marked on the website if they aren't. It wasn't something I was specifically looking for buying this palette to be honest but it's nice to know and now I've found this site, it's much easier to know what goes into the products.

Overall, I would highly reccomend this palette and am definitely going to be looking into purchasing more of the colours which can be moved into this palette or they have the option to buy empty palettes, which all of the pans fit into too. Also I would reccomend checking out the website Cute Cosmetics as they have so many different make up brands, some of which are well known and some of which were totally new to me and might be hard to find in other places!
